These workshops and courses are designed to help you grow and develop.
Some workshops are for personal development and are open to anyone. Others of them are practitioner based, for professional development, and as such require you to have an initial level of skill and knowledge. This will always be indicated in the text.
One day workshops are £75 unless otherwise stated and require a deposit. Light refreshments are provided but due to varying dietary needs we do not provide lunch.
Evening courses are £15/evening of the course. These can also be paid in full in advance.

Introduction to Chakras - 1 day: Saturday 4th September / Sunday 24th October 2010 This is a great one day workshops for those who want to know a bit about chakras. We learn what chakras are & their key colours, experience where our main chakras are located and explore the key aspects each chakra influences. This one day workshop is suitable as an introduction for those who know very little or for those who may have touched on chakras in their Indian Head Massage, Hot Stone Massage or Reiki courses. For those who want to know more there will be 8 week
Exploring Chakras course starting Jan 2011 that will cover each of the main chakras in much more detail. Crystal Chakra sets will be available for purchase on the day
Introduction to Crystals - 1 day: Sunday 5th September / Saturday 23rd October 2010 This is fun day for those who want to learn what to do with crystals. May of us have crystals, usually sitting on the side somewhere or in a pocket/bag but we don't actually look after our crystals properly or use them fully. During the day we will try different methods of selecting crystals, cleansing them and programming them to work with us. We will also explore key properties of 5 useful crystals. For those who want to go further there is a 6 week
Using your Crystals course starting November 2010 that covers lots more ways to use your crystals for you, your home and others as well as introducing you to other crystals.
The crystals covered will be available for purchase on the day.
Deep abdominal massage 12th September 2010 in Brentwood: A professional development workshop for aroma and massage therapists. During the day we revisit the structure of the digestive system and observe, give and received techniques to encourage the movement of material through the digestive system. In particular we work on the large intestine as a pathway for elimination, helping our clients to get rid of unwanted material which may be causing bloating, weight gain, poor nutrient absorption, headaches and nausea. Abdominal work can also help to normalise a sluggish or intermittent digestive system.
Lymphatic Drainage Saturday 6th November 2010 in Brentwood: A one day workshop for therapists focusing on stimulating the lymphatic system. The skills used will enable you to reduce fluid retention, increase detoxing and the clearing out of the body. The techniques are based on the Vodder method and as such differ greatly from the use of light directional effleurage used in Swedish massage to increase lymph flow. An understanding of the lymphatic system is essential for the skills gained to be put into practice effectively and this will be reviewed and updated as part of the day.
Make Your Own Products - Creams and Lotions 7th November 2010 A fun, hands on day, where you make a range of creams and lotions from things found in your kitchen as well as some specialised ingredients. You get to take home everything you make. A range of essential oils will be available for you to add (with guidance as needed). The day is rounded of with a manual with the recipes used on the day along with others for you to try at home.
Hands Free techniques for the upper body, Saturday 20th November in Brentwood Part of our series of advanced techniques for massage and aroma therapist. This one day workshop covers light and deep techniques using forearms and elbows to work the back, arms, shoulders and neck. These new skills are easily incorporated into your existing practice and your clients will love them.
Hands free techniques for the lower body, 21st November 2010 in Brentwood Part of our series of advanced techniques for massage and aroma therapist. This one day workshop focuses on techniques for the hips, legs and feet using forearms and elbows. These skills complement those covered in the upper body day and are just as easy to incorporated into your existing practice.
Stretching and Joint Mobilisation 5th December 2010 Part of our series of advanced techniques for massage and aroma therapist. This experiential workshop includes techniques to increase a clients range of movement and flexibility. These skills will enhance your work with sports people, injury recovery and clients with stiff joints. The techniques will work well with both light and deep tissue massage.
Up and Coming Courses
Energetic Work, 4 Tuesday evenings starting 7th September 2010 in Brentwood Over 4 evenings we will explore different aspects of energetic work. The course aims to cover grounding, looking after our own energy, protecting ourselves from draining clients and what to do with the heavy energies that clients can leave behind. This is a very interactive course and participants are encouraged to bring share experiences to be discussed and learnt from. As this is a flexible course there is space for individual areas of concern to be included and even for the course to be extended if the group wishes.
Using your Crystals, 6 weeks beginning Monday 8th November 2010 in Brentwood: Over the weeks you will discover how to use your crystals in layouts, grids and placements; how to create and use crystal waters and crystal oils; ways to blend crystal into other therapies or energy work as well as ways to enhance your life with crystals. Knowledge of selecting, cleansing and programming is essential for this course. If you are not already familiar with these techniques you may want to come on our 1-day Introduction to Crystals course or read up from a selection of books available at The Earth Mother in Romford.

Care & Share days
A time to meet other therapists, try out techniques, ask questions, get feedback and guidance, receive some bodywork, make links and find new friends.
Care and share days are a way of nurturing yourself mentally, emotionally and physically. It is a space for exchanging ideas, thoughts, techniques and tips with fellow therapists, for asking questions, exploring answers and finding support, all under the gentle guidance of an experienced facilitator.
